STORY TIME PROGRAM

Story Time is a group program for immigrant women and their young children which focuses on learning rhymes, stories and songs together as a way for mothers and children to develop language skills and to relax and have fun together.

For women who...

  • Are at a beginner level of English;
  • Have young children (from babies to 5 years old);
  • Want to learn ways to help their children's language development;
  • Want to meet and learn with other women

Benefits

  • Learn basic, everyday English;
  • Learn simple children's songs, stories and rhymes;
  • Receive information and support on parenting issues;
  • Find out about other resources and services for families;
  • Meet people, make friends and have fun;
  • Children develop language and social skills

"This program provides a nice learning environment for children and mothers... other than planned activities the children can play together while the mothers socialize with one another. We feel like a family in this group. Everytime the storytelling finishes my son asks when we will come again. This program is very beneficial to my son and me. It creates closeness between us."
