PROGRAMS FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN

programs

PIRS' programs are designed to meet the needs of immigrant women all ages, from all cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds. The programs we offer are:

Beginner level ESL (English as a second language) and literacy classes;

Leadership development and support (LEAD);

Training in group facilitation (Building Bridges);

Volunteer opportunities and support (see our Volunteer Opportunities page)

Programs are part-time and scheduled to coincide with the school year (September to June). They are located throughout Vancouver in various community centres, elementary schools and neighbourhood houses.Quality on-site child care is provided for women with young children. Assistance with fees and transportation is also available for families who need it.
