CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

Children's programs provide safe, affordable quality care and education for children from 18 months to 5 years whose mothers are participating in PIRS programs. The children are supervised by qualified staff who are trained to support their needs.

Children will...

  • Have fun;
  • Learn to share, cooperate and make choices;
  • Begin to understand and use English;
  • Take pride in their home language and culture;
  • Be better prepared to entry into the school system

Parents will...

  • Become familiar and comfortable with Canadian concepts of child care and education;
  • Learn about community resources;
  • Receive information and support related to parenting issues

children"Dicky learned more than I expected because the program is like a regular preschool. Dicky learned how to share and cooperate with others, he learned about colours, shapes, letters and numbers, and he sings English songs to me at home. Dicky understands English now and speaks a few words. I think it will be easy for him to adapt to elementary school."
