OUR STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS
PIRS has one full time staff person (the Executive Director) and 45 part time staff who work in the office and in various neighborhood houses, elementary schools and community centres where PIRS programs are held. All staff are well qualified for the work they do, with formal training/certification and many years experience in their respective fields (teaching English as a second language, early childhood education, group leadership and facilitation, program administration and support). Staff turnover is very low, with the average length of employment with PIRS being 7 years. We are very fortunate to have over 100 volunteers working with paid staff in programs, on committees, in the office and at community and special events. All our volunteers are carefully screened and are provided with the training and support they need to be effective in their roles. |
